MEGILAT ESTHER:

As one moves beyond the 'PURIM SHPIEL' aspects of the story-line, the study of the MEGILAT ESTHER takes on a most serious role in the overall TANNACH PROGRAM.
While the inclusion of this document into the Judaic Cannon is most puzzling, it has also contributed to its acceptance as the document most intimately identified with the Galut experience of present-day Judaism.

Hence the need for an in-depth study and confrontation with this document at the HIGH SCHOOL, and especially at the upper and post HIGH SCHOOL levels.

NALEKET has now completed Stage 1 ( 7 modules ) of its MEGILAT ESTHER series - the development of the worksheets for the teaching of the core text component of the Megila. Stage 2 will involve the creation of theMEFORSHIM modules.

The Megilat Esther series aims to offer the student :

• a mature and systematic translation of the core text
• an exposure to the key MIDRASHIC interpretations
• an analysis of significant issues raised by the text in light of present day Judaic practice and sensitivities.
